The men’s league section welcomes all men who have a membership at the Fredericton Golf Club. Our weekly Wednesday league accommodates full, associate, and Intermediate members.
All men, regardless of skill level or course handicap, are encouraged to sign up in the pro shop. The league plays in a fun team competition every Wednesday which rewards participation, gross and net scores. Members of the winning weekly teams wins proshop gifts each Wednesday. Prizes are awarded for Low net, Low Gross, top 5 Net scores, and Net Rangs (awarded by handicap divisions). The focus of this Net team competition is to include all members, regardless of their handicap.
Please contact or visit our friendly staff in the proshop for any questions.
The Senior men at FGC play every Thursday morning, with tee times between 8:00-10:00. We play a variety of formats over the season, with about half being individual, keep your own score and half a team game with a team score. The weekly entry fee is $5.00, which includes a 50/50 ticket. Weekly prizes are small pro shop credits.
Three times during the season we play a four person scramble with a shotgun start followed by a meal—our opening, closing, mixed. Cost for these is more and prizes are pro shop credits.
We are also part of an inter-club group with Gage, Westfield and Sussex. Each of the four clubs hosts a shotgun format with a meal and prizes
Two other special events are “bring a guest” in September and the Fric—Frac Cup in June (a three week Ryder Cup format) with the entry fees donated to Golf Fore The Cure.
All handicaps are welcomed. We use the forward tees and a few “senior rules” to keep the pace of play moving along. The emphasis is less on competition and more on comradery and golfing with guys you don’t usually golf with.
